Zakk Wylde vs. Angus Young – Greatest Metal Guitarist, Round 2

Claiming victory by a comfortable margin, the one and only Zakk Wylde beat out Motley Crue veteran Mick Mars in Round 1 of our Greatest Metal Guitarist competition. Wylde is surely a favorite to make it all the way to the end, but unfortunately for the Black Label Society/ Ozzy Osbourne fret blazer, so is his latest opponent as we enter Round 2.

It was a hell of a battle between AC/DC schoolboy riff master Angus Young and Rob Zombie / David Lee Roth / Marilyn Manson virtuoso John 5. Although John 5 can feasibly perform any style of guitar on the planet, it was Young who claimed a Round 1 victory. Having manned the axe for 40-plus years and helping shape the hard rock / heavy metal sound, Young surely deserves his spot in Round 2 of our Greatest Metal Guitarist feature.
