Zakk Wylde is known for his signature guitar with its bullseye graphic and has worked on expanding his passion for custom guitars. He left his partnership with Gibson and Marshall to start up his own company, Wylde Audio, and has just announced the signing of a worldwide distribution deal with the California guitar company Schecter Guitar Research.

The legendary guitarist has already been testing out the prototypes of three guitar designs while on the road with Black Label Society. Wylde will be debuting three models at the 2016 Winter NAMM: The models Odin, War Hammer and Viking all have an obvious theme emanating from the guitar god.

Speaking about the partnership, Schecter Vice President Marc LaCorte stated, "We are extremely proud to be working with Zakk and Wylde Audio on this endeavor. Zakk has been incredible in recognizing what he wanted in his own brand and bringing the best possible product to the market."

"I'm very excited for the launch of Wylde Audio in 2016,” Wylde added. “For me, it’s the next logical step. You start as a player, manager, VP of Team Operations, then Team Owner. I've surrounded myself with super talented people to make this vision become a reality and having Schecter on board as our distributor is going to allow me to bring Wylde Audio’s boutique quality of craftsmanship to the next level."

In business for 40 years, Schecter has a global network spanning 70 countries, so we're sure to see rockers around the world ripping it up on these guitars.

Zakk Wylde will be one of the feature guitarists leading the Experience Hendrix tour starting in late February. Each year, the tour enlists some of rock and metal's best axeman to pay tribute to the man who is widely regarded as the greatest guitarist the world has ever known. The homage to Jimi Hendrix and his legacy will also boast guitarists Billy Cox, Buddy Rich and several more. For a full list of dates, see our 2016 Guide to Rock + Metal Tours.
