Black Veil Brides' Andy Biersack is expected to resume work with his band soon on new music, but he's also got his second solo album moving forward under the moniker Andy Black. And by all accounts, the poppier-leaning solo set will include a number of special guests lending a hand.

The latest to turn up is former My Chemical Romance frontman and current solo artist Gerard Way, who recently joined Biersack and producer John Feldmann in the studio. Biersack just posted a photo of himself with Feldmann and Way on his Instagram account with the following message:

What an incredible day in the studio with @johnfeldy & @gerardway on #AndyBLACK Thank you so much to Gerard for coming in today, it was an absolute pleasure working with you and talking about music, comics and life. An inspiring creative force and a true artist! This record just keeps getting more exciting! I can't wait for you all to hear it!

Way is the latest musician to join Biersack in the studio. Past updates reveal that 5 Seconds of Summer's Ashton Irwin, Fall Out Boy's Patrick Stump and The Used's Quinn Allman have spent time in the studio with the singer and his producer.

Speaking with Loudwire earlier this summer, Biersack revealed, "I’ve been working on the Andy Black record really for the better part of the last year. The beauty of it is that there’s no timeline, really. I can kind of take my time and put together something where I feel like I have a complete record, so I’m getting there. I feel like I’m at the point where I’m going to be pretty close to getting in the studio and actually recording the record. As far as writing, I’ve got 30-40 songs done that I feel are strong. Now it’ll just be whittling it down to the best ones. Finding the best elements of it."

He also added that Black Veil Brides would likely take a little breather after touring, then resume writing and return to the studio.
