Demon Hunter have a few new members in their ranks, with former Showdown bassist Jeremiah Scott taking up the guitar and joining the band. Radio station KFMX got the exclusive scoop from Scott about his new gig.

Scott revealed that he had been friends with the Demon Hunter dudes for quite some time, and before he joined the lineup, two former members of the Showdown were already in the band. These facts meant he didn't need to try out when the guitarist position opened up, given all that prior history.

"They didn’t even hold auditions or anything they just straight up asked me and I immediately said 'Yes,'" Scott revealed.

Scott is psyched to roll up his sleeves and dive right in, even though his newness to the band meant that he wasn't involved in and didn't contribute to the creation process of the songs. Despite that fact, he is happy to jam out material that's entirely new to him.

He declared, "I'm just glad to be a part of it and play some fun songs. This will be the first time I've been in a band where I didn’t really have much creative input and I’m kind of looking forward to it because now I just get to jam out on other people’s songs. It’s going to be pretty metal."

That's good news.

The other good news is that while Demon Hunter don't tour very often, that might change in 2012. The band plans to canvas both Europe and North America, new members in tow. The new album is due out later this year, as well.
