Mike Starr was the original bassist for the trailblazing alternative rock band Alice in Chains. Having helped form the band, Starr saw Alice in Chains reach the top of the Seattle alt-rock scene in the early 90s. Starr stayed with the band until after the release of their landmark album 'Dirt.' It was originally said that he left the band on his own accord, but later on 'Celebrity Rehab,' Starr revealed that he was kicked out due to his growing drug addiction. Unfortunately, Starr never truly overcame his demons, dying of a prescription drug overdose on March 8, 2011.
