In our quest to find the greatest metal album created so far in the 21st century, we've compiled some of the heaviest-hitting recordings which have been released since the year 2000. In this quarterfinal match and final battle of the Headbanger Region, two acts with massive followings fight for supremacy.

Pantera entered March Metal Madness 2014 with their sole 21st century album, 'Reinventing the Steel.' Pantera first took down Shadows Fall's 'The Art of Balance' in Round 1 before besting Mastodon's 'Leviathan' in Round 2. Can the raw power of Pantera keep 'Reinventing the Steel' in the running in March Metal Madness?

There may be no fan base on the planet more rabid than that of Tool. In Round 1, the experimental act defeated Cynic's 'Traced in Air' before adding another win to their scoreboard by beating out Cannibal Corpse's 'Kill' in Round 2. Tool's 'Lateralus' remains alive in March Metal Madness 2014, but can the masterful album emerge victorious in this latest battle and make it to the semifinals?
