Slipknot bassist Paul Gray was found dead in an Iowa hotel on May 24, 2010. The cause of death was ruled to be an accidental overdose of morphine and fentanyl, and Gray's autopsy showed that the bassist suffered from significant heart disease.

However, more than two years after Gray's death, physician Daniel Baldi was charged with over-prescribing narcotic painkillers to eight of his patients, one of whom was Gray. Baldi, who had prescribed the Slipknot bassist with high-dose painkillers since Dec. 2005, is facing up to 16 years in prison if he is convicted of involuntary manslaughter in the death of Paul Gray.
