As one of the forefront acts during the grunge movement, Soundgarden quickly became one of the world's biggest bands during the early to-mid '90s. Soundgarden disbanded in 1997, but after a 12-year absence, Soundgarden rose up once again in 2010.

Both personal and creative quarrels broke a band apart, but the band buried their issues to play a handful of 2010 dates before headlining the 2010 Lollapalooza Festival. Soundgarden went on their first full-on tour in the summer of 2011, with Coheed & Cambria, the Mars Volta, Queens of the Stone Age, Meat Puppets and Mastodon all supporting on various dates.
