Steve DiGiorgio is lauded for his pioneering bass skills. He got his start with the thrash band Sadus, bringing a new element to the genre with his fretless bass. This masterwork can also be heard on the Death albums ‘Human’ and ‘Individual Thought Patterns’ as well as Testament’s ‘The Gathering.’ Not only is he complex in his playing, but DiGiorgio is also a fast player, being able to execute 32nd notes without using a pick.

The Dillinger Escape Plan’s Liam Wilson is a diverse bassist. Dillinger takes a chaotic mix of powerviolence, hardcore, and other outside influences to throw into the mix. Wilson’s busy fretwork rounds out the more technical side of the band, while he keeps it rather simple at other times to bring the full effect of the riffing. His wide range of influences has helped make Wilson one of metal’s standout players of the modern age.
