Possibly the most unlikely phenomenon in metal music history, Canadian heavy metal band Anvil finally made it big after the release of the documentary, 'Anvil: The Story of Anvil.' Having existed since 1978, the band struggled to grasp fame all the way into their fifties -- working day jobs the entire time to support their passion.

Several days after announcing he was quitting the band, recently departed Anvil bassist Glenn Five has opened up about his decision in a wide-ranging interview with BraveWords.com, discussing his reasons for leaving his musical home of 16 years and talking in-depth about the creative rifts that forced him to walk away.

Canadian heavy metal band Anvil have wasted no time in replacing longtime bassist Glenn Gyorffy (aka Glenn Five) after he officially left the band two days ago. Anvil have chosen Sal Italiano, a bassist from a Long Island, N.Y., Iron Maiden cover band to provide the low-end and shake venues worldwide.

Anvil bassist Glenn Five, whose bottom end helped power the veteran metal act back into the spotlight after a decade of creative doldrums, has ended his 15-year tenure with the band. In a statement, Five wished his former mates well, while making it clear he feels he has new creative environs to explore.
