On Oct. 22, brutal death metal got a little too brutal when fans' throats were slashed during Broken Hope's set as part of the 'No Salvation' 2013 tour with Deicide in El Paso, Texas. Reports indicated that three fans in total had their throats slashed with a box cutter and, luckily, all three were in stable condition following the attack. Broken Hope and Deicide had a rather dramatic ending to their fall touring relationship, but despite some unpleasantries, they've now mended their friendship. Broken Hope revealed that all is fine again in a new posting, stating that "friendship and music are all that matters."
Broken Hope are back in action and there may be no one more happy about it than guitarist Jeremy Wagner. After a solid run of five studio albums in the '90s, the death metal group suffered some difficult times as the 2000s arrived. But after putting aside past issues, the band has re-formed and is once again working on new music.
On Tuesday night (Sept. 11) the death metal Floridians of Obituary were the cause of some massive pits along with Broken Hope and Decrepit Birth at Gramercy Theater in New York City for the Carnival of Death Tour 2012.
