Kill Devil Hill

After spending late spring on the road sharing stages with Adrenaline Mob, Kill Devil Hill will return to North American stages in August and September in support of their self-titled debut disc.

Kill Devil Hill are ready to emerge. Though the band is mostly known for veteran Pantera and Down bassist Rex Brown and Heaven and Hell drummer Vinny Appice, it's actually singer Dew Bragg and guitarist Mark Savon that drive the band's new single and video, 'Strange.'

Vinny Appice is a wanted man. The Heaven & Hell drummer is making his return with the new band Kill Devil Hill, which also features Pantera's Rex Brown, and he's also been courted for Dave Grohl's 'Sound City' documentary, but it's his past that keeps spurring some of the most interesting questions.

It's Tax Day, which means you might not be in a very good mood right now. But cheer up, because even if you're writing the IRS a check this year, chances are you don't owe anywhere near as much as former Pantera / Down bassist Rex 'Rocker' Brown.

As a teenager, Rex Brown cut his eye teeth as the bassist for Pantera. When the band broke up, he continued with vocalist Phil Anselmo in the group Down. Now, having left down because Anselmo was busy with too many projects, he is putting all of his efforts into Kill Devil Hill, his new band with ex-Black Sabbath drummer Vinny Appice, guitarist Mark Zavon and vocalist Dewey Bragg.

In early 2010, former Pantera frontman Phil Anselmo announced that he was working on his autobiography with writer Corey Mitchell. Now, bassist Rex Brown – Anselmo’s ex-bandmate in Down and Pantera -- has joined Anselmo in the book-writing ring.

There’s a new supergroup in town by the name of Kill Devil Hill, who are made up of former members of Black Sabbath and Pantera, among others. The band recently signed with SPV / Steamhammer Records and are set to release their debut album in March 2012.
