‘That Metal Show’ Season 14 Starts With Rush’s Geddy Lee + Dream Theater’s John Petrucci
We're just a few weeks out from the debut of Season 14 of VH1 Classic's 'That Metal Show' and the special guest talent for the season premiere has been revealed. Rush frontman Geddy Lee will be on hand to discuss the highly anticipated 'Rush R40 Live' tour celebrating the band's 40th anniversary, while Dream Theater's John Petrucci will provide the heavy riffing leading into commercial breaks.
“Back when ‘TMS’ was first born Geddy & Alex [Lifeson] were nice enough to fly to New York and be a guest in our very first season. I’ve always had a great relationship with the Rush guys and it meant so much to me they were willing to support something I was doing that at that point hardly anyone had seen or heard of,” states host/co-producer Eddie Trunk. “Amazingly almost seven years have passed and we’re now about to debut our 14th season of ‘That Metal Show’ and I couldn’t be more honored to welcome back Geddy to the set to celebrate 40 plus years of Rush and the return of TMS!”
As for Petrucci, he's making his first ever appearance on the show. The Dream Theater guitarist is someone that's been on the 'That Metal Show' wish list for some time and having him appear in a musical capacity is something that will definitely kick off the new season on the right foot. Dream Theater are currently working on a new album they hope to release later this year.
Look for the Season 14 debut episode of 'That Metal Show' to premiere on Saturday, Feb. 21 at 9PM ET/PT. And if you're interested in attending one of the tapings of the new season and are in the New York City area, check out the taping schedule at Gotham Casting.
