Extreme metal innovators the Dillinger Escape Plan have posted a new six-and-a-half teaser for the band's upcoming album, 'One of Us is the Killer,' and holy hell it's good. The band's 2013 album is one of the year's most anticipated metal releases, and Dillinger fans have been waiting to sink their teeth into something new since 'Option Paralysis' took off in 2010. How awesome is the trailer? Let's just say it delivers like a cannonball to the gut.

Dillinger's teaser for 'One of Us is the Killer' guides you through the band's incredibly wide spectrum, showcasing the act's trademark sense of spastic violence, while delving into the softer and catchier side of Dillinger. Vocalist Greg Puciato sounds phenomenally versatile as the new sneak peek weaves in and out of the Dillinger Escape Plan's sonic maze, while the instrumental section, as tight as ever, showcase eternal and ever-expanding boundaries.

In Puciato's recent interview with Full Metal Jackie, the vocalist describes the disjointed, yet cohesive sound of 'One of Us is the Killer':

I don’t know if there’s any tricks so much as we just know after time what sounds like Dillinger and what doesn’t, and even if something sounds really different than the song before it, there’s a lot of stuff that me and Ben [Weinman, guitar] each write that doesn’t get used for Dillinger that we use for other things. I think it’s just a matter of knowing – I can’t really explain, it’s just an intuition that you have that 'this is not something that’s appropriate for this band and this is.' It’s just a certain vibe that you develop over time, it’s like if you have a movie series and you’re a horror movie guy and you’re making ‘Nightmare on Elm Street.’ You know that some scene would be better off in another horror movie and it’s not necessarily supposed to be in a ‘Nightmare on Elm Street’ movie. I don’t know, it’s something, it’s intangible.
