The Veer Union are on their way back, ready to make an early impression on 2016 with the release of their fourth studio album, Decade.

The disc is on track for a Jan. 29 street date via Pavement Entertainment, with the single "Defying Gravity" expected to be released on Friday (Dec. 11), with the track available the same day via iTunes. Vocalist Crispin Earl penned the song about his internal battles with depression over the years.

As for the album's Decade moniker, there's a simple reason -- it's been 10 years since the release of their first album Time to Break the Spell.

The disc has a bit of a unique concept as frontman Crispin Earl revisited five unreleased songs that were penned before the first incarnation of the band 10 years ago and decided to bring them back to life. But five songs does not an album make, so the remaining tracks on the disc were penned specifically for the new release. By delivering the unique mix of songs, Earl hoped to show that the Veer Union's music can stand the test of time.

The Veer Union have undergone some changes since their last album, with Earl being the lone holdover. The current lineup features the singer flanked by guitarists Ryan Ramsdell and Dan Sittler, touring drummer Tyler Reimer and bassist Amal Wijayanayake. Look for the band returning to the road in February, sharing stages with Bobaflex, Bridge to Grace and Artifas. Tour dates and the Decade album track listing can be found below.
