10 Amazing Drum Stunts

This Loud List is dedicated to the daredevil drummers who strive to make live rock and metal shows a true spectacle. The music is already good, but there’s more than one way for an audience member’s jaw to drop.

In this list of 10 Amazing Drum Stunts, you’ll see plenty of footage from the all-time master of daredevil drumming, Motley Crue‘s Tommy Lee. The Crue percussionist began his ascension to the rafters with a flying drum kit, but Lee seems almost obsessed with topping himself. This lead to Tommy’s 360-degree roller coaster kit, which brought a ‘Six Flags’ mentality to Motley Crue’s live show.

On Crue’s ‘Final Tour,’ however, Tommy took his drums 50 feet high with the ‘Crucifly.’ The contraption takes the drummer from the front of an arena to the very back, spinning him mid-air for a stunt that lasts all of 10 minutes.

Drummers such as Blink-182‘s Travis Barker and former Slipknot member Joey Jordison also take to the sky in the clip above, but in very different ways. The rest of our 10 Amazing Drum Stunts video corrals in explosions, drum-based crowd surfing, a sprint from kit to kit and much more.

Prepare to be dazzled by these 10 Amazing Drum Stunts!
