This year has been chock-full of bands who have made serious comebacks after going off the radar for a while. Below are five bands who have made their fans very happy by returning to the rock scene in 2011.

Anthrax returned in 2011 with classic singer Joey Belladonna back in the lineup and they are taking music listeners by storm with their latest album ‘Worship Music,’ which took the No. 1 spot on Loudwire’s list of the Top 10 Metal Albums of 2011. The band also made heavy metal history by being part of the first Big Four show to hit New York City earlier this year.

Bush hadn't released a new album in 10 years before dropping ‘The Sea of Memories’ in 2011. The album has already yielded the hit rock song 'The Sound of Winter.' Frontman Gavin Rossdale & company also embarked on a successful tour with Chevelle and Filter.

It has been an explosive year for Evanescence, who topped music charts with their third studio album ‘Evanescence.’ The band’s latest disc is their first since 2006’s ‘The Open Door,’ and fans are welcoming the new release with open arms.

Jane’s Addiction are back with ‘The Great Escape Artist.’ which is the band’s first disc since 2003’s ‘Strays.’ Fans are hoping that Jane's won’t stray too far from the limelight again.

It was a dark day for System of a Down fanatics when the band announced a hiatus back in 2006. While SOAD didn't return with new music in 2011, the band reunited for a number of tour dates, including this year’s Rock in Rio Festival. Hopefully, a new album is on the way, as well.
