The Acacia Strain Invade New York City With Assist From Within the Ruins + More
Heavy metal maniacs went into a frenzy as the Acacia Strain came to New York City for the last date of their No Way Out tour on Sunday (Sept. 15). Support for the night included Within the Ruins, Fit for an Autopsy and Xibalba.
As the theme song for wrestler Stone Cold Steve Austin became the Acacia Strain’s introduction, fans gave them one hell of a welcome. Known for his infamous gutturals, lead vocalist Vincent Bennett opened up violent pits with his forceful stage presence. The band churned out favorites such as ‘Dust and the Helix,’ ‘Whoa! Shut It Down’ and ‘JFC.’
In between songs, Bennett thanked New York fans for being angry and for brewing hatred, both of which were the source of the immense energy that took hold of both the crowd and the band.
Within the Ruins left the interior of Gramercy Theater in ruins with their relentless vigor. The band had the crowd bouncing and fans lost their minds as frontman Tim Goergen shouted “You’re eating yourselves alive!” before unleashing ‘Feeding Frenzy.’
The New Jersians of Fit for an Autopsy are raw onstage, to say the least. The band performs with every ounce of energy. Every bead of sweat dripped from the popping veins of vocalist Nate Johnson who turned red with fervor as he growled out songs.
West Coast hardcore group Xibalba kicked off the night and got some East Coast love with some fierce pits at the start of the show.
