After nearly five years since they released ‘Crash Love’ in 2009, AFI make their return this year with new disc ‘Burials’ due out on Oct. 22. Fans first taste of ‘Burials’ is the first single ‘I Hope You Suffer’ and the song lives up to its gut punch of a name.

‘I Hope You Suffer’ serves as one of the most biting anti-love songs in a long while. Throughout the track, frontman Davey Havok’s vocals ring out in cries of despair and sorrow over a chorus of billowing soundscapes. AFI deliver the deeply personal sentiment of being on the losing end of love gone bad in this tune, conjuring up heartbreak as it plays out perfectly note by aching note.
