Alien Ant Farm ‘Glow’ in New York City
With nearly two decades of music under their belt, Alien Ant Farm are gearing up to release their brand new album ‘Always and Forever’ later this year. They’re currently on the Antarchy U.S. Tour, which made a stop in New York City at Gramercy Theatre.
They cranked out favorites ‘Wish,’ ‘Movies’ and ‘Courage’ at the beginning of the set. The crowd sang and bounced their hearts out, as Alien Ant Farm’s music is fun and they know how to make their fans feel good. Frontman Dryden Mitchell greeted fans with silly faces and humorous mannerisms onstage and even did the E.T. phone home finger touch with many fans.
Highlights of the set included incredible performances of ‘These Days,’ ‘Attitude,’ and ‘Sticks and Stones.’ They also performed their new song ‘Homage’ which is off of their forthcoming album ‘Always and Forever’ tentatively due out in October. Frontwoman Christina Chriss of Kaleido joined the band onstage and provided some guest vocals on ‘Glow.’ Alien Ant Farm ended the night with their notable cover of Michael Jackson’s ‘Smooth Criminal.’
Wheatus was not even on the tour but made a special appearance in New York City and we’re sure glad they did. Seeing Wheatus live is a unique experience, from their stage setup to the music itself. As they ended their set with the very awesome ‘Teenage Dirtbag,’ the band as a whole filled Gramercy Theatre with their odd, dorky, beautiful chemistry.
With their punky popability, Kaleido easily had one of the most energetic sets earlier in the night. Blonde bombshell Christina Chriss has an undeniable force onstage that is reminiscent of Gwen Stefani in the early No Doubt days.
The charming London lads of H2NY gave New York fans a taste of their melodic rock sound. The band is touring in promotion of their new debut album ‘Tremor.’
The young rockers of Bad Seed Rising opened up the show with a lively set. Their Black Stone Cherry-like sound is definitely pleasing to the eardrums. Watch out for their debut EP ‘Charm City.’
