As Alter Bridge approach the Oct. 8 release date for their new disc, the band is allowing fans a peek inside the walls of their ‘Fortress’ album with the music video for their first single ‘Addicted to Pain,’ premiering exclusively in North America right here on Loudwire.

Wasting no time and getting right down to business, the video opens with the fast and furious intro of the song while the band (Myles Kennedy on vocals and guitar, Mark Tremonti on guitar, Brian Marshall on bass and Scott Phillips on drums) performs on a large stage decked out with three monstrous video screens towering behind the rockers.

The screens flash images that take the song title to the literal extreme from someone being set on fire in a crowd to an antique car left on train tracks only to meet its impending doom. The muted colors of the live band footage are intertwined with black & white vintage clips, making for a rapid-fire assault on the senses.

The quirky visuals play perfectly into the video mixed in between raging Tremonti guitar solos, melodic interludes and the overall vibe of the song as the lyrics ring out, ‘You're addicted to pain / Too blind to see you're lost in the shadows / Too addicted to face  / In time you're gonna lose it all.’

‘Fortress’ is now available for pre-order on iTunes, Amazon and the official Alter Bridge website. Leading up to the release, Alter Bridge will play one stateside show on Oct. 4 in Orlando, Fla., before they head to Europe for October and November.
