It seems that as of late, every band is coming after Otep. Cody Perez of Amerakin Overdose has fired a shot at Otep Shamaya in a recent Instagram post, calling for fans to boycott all her future shows. This stems from his claims of Shamaya commenting "local bands don't sell tickets," and that she's unsupportive of independent music. He went on further saying, "If the touring manager is asking for local support it's because they know Otep can't fill the place themselves and they NEED the help of the local bands for a crowd."

Shamaya responded via Twitter, taking her own shots at Perez, calling him an "anal gland" and later insinuating he was a homophobe. They flung more shots at each other and Perez later argued that she never had to hustle and was instantly on Ozzfest, to which Shamaya came back with mentioning her tour schedule.

Last week, Shamaya caught heat from another up and coming band, The Convalescence, when they called her an "absolute nightmare to work with" after being removed from their tour. In their story of touring with Otep, the band claimed they were being punished for allegedly selling merchandise during the intro of Otep's set, as well supposedly buying weed from venue staff.

Earlier this year, Otep went after Butcher Babies' frontwomen Heidi Shepard and Carla Harvey on The Jasta Show, a podcast hosted by Hatebreed's Jamey Jasta. On the show, she called the band  “a little tiny band that’s fronted by a couple of f–king moronic bimbos” and claiming that, “One of ’em, if I see her I’m going to give her the option of like ‘do you want your jaw broken or your ribs broken? Just let me know which your sugar daddy can fix easier.’”
