Andrew W.K. has never been guilty of falling short on energy or intensity, so when he set out to break a world record for an uninterrupted 24 hours of drumming at the Oakley store in Time Square during the O Music Awards on Wednesday, June 19, it seemed like a feat well within his reach.

The rocker rose to the challenge and broke the record in smashing fashion, posting on Twitter, “WE DID IT!!! 24 Hours of Drumming!!!” He continued, giving major props to his fans, saying, “I didn't do it, WE did it. You were with me every beat. I feel very emotional and party."

Along the way several VIP drummers stopped by to lend their support with guest appearances by Chad Smith of the Red Hot Chili Peppers and Questlove from The Roots leaving W.K. in awe. “Some of these I would consider the greatest drummers in the world,’ he said. “People that I've admired for years and years."

As he neared the finish like Andrew W.K.’s fatigue was starting to show as he told fans that his hands and back were hurting, but in true ‘Party Hard’ fashion he pushed through, reaching his goal.

Upon completion of the new world record, W.K. was asked 'If you could have one thing right now, after 24 hours of solid drumming, to satisfy yourself, what would it be?" to which he simply answered, "Liquor."
