There's a lot of love for the late great Ronnie James Dio, and that carries over to the Grammy Awards, which nominated two tracks from the 'Ronnie James Dio - This Is Your Life' tribute album.

Anthrax's rendition of 'Neon Knights' and the Tenacious D take on 'The Last in Line' both received Grammy nods, in the Best Metal Performance category that is rounded out by Slipknot's triumphant return on 'The Negative One,' Motorhead's latest memorable rocker 'Heartbreaker' and Mastodon's epically heavy 'High Road.'

While the Best Metal Performance category will be one of the more closely monitored categories by hard rock and metal fans, there are other rock acts that could be in line for Grammy gold come Feb. 8.

Jack White and the Black Keys are all up for Best Rock Performance for their tracks 'Lazaretto' and 'Fever.' The Black Keys and White also earned nods for the same tracks in the Best Rock Song category, and The Black Keys 'Turn Blue' disc is up for Best Rock Album. Cage the Elephant's 'Melophobia' and White's 'Lazaretto' discs earned Best Alternative Album nods.

On the more technical side, Pearl Jam's 'Lightning Bolt' earned a Best Recording Package nomination and Metallica's 'Through the Never' is up for Best Music Film. Also, Nine Inch Nails frontman Trent Reznor and his composing cohort Atticus Ross earned a Best Score Soundtrack for Visual Media Grammy nomination for their work on the movie 'Gone Girl.'

Update: The Album of the Year nominees were announced on Friday night's 'A Very Grammy Christmas' special on CBS. Beck's 'Morning Phase' will compete against four pop albums for the most coveted award. The 57th Annual Grammy Awards will take place Feb. 8 in Los Angeles. See the full list of nominees here.
