Anthrax’s Scott Ian: AC/DC’s Malcolm Young Is the ‘Greatest Rhythm Guitar Player Ever’

Anthrax guitarist Scott Ian is one of the biggest AC/DC fans out there, so when he stopped by our studio to discuss his new book, 'I'm the Man,' we were compelled to ask him about AC/DC's decision to continue on without ailing guitarist Malcolm Young.

Ian makes no secret of his love for AC/DC, as he even sports a prominent tattoo of guitarist Angus Young that was applied by ink master Kat Von D. When we asked Ian about his thoughts on the band playing without Malcolm, he told us, "Malcolm is the engine in the Mack truck that is AC/DC," but he went on to say that it will likely be business as usual for AC/DC when they hit the road.

The Anthrax axeman went on to talk about how much Malcolm influenced him as a guitarist, even declaring that Malcolm is the "greatest rhythm guitar player ever." Check out the video above to see Ian's full take on Malcolm Young.

AC/DC announced last year that Malcolm was no longer in the band as he battles dementia. The band went on to release the new album, 'Rock or Bust,' and will embark on a world tour in 2015.
