Jake E. Lee is one of the great metal guitarists, but has been absent from the scene for a while. Back in the early ‘80s he was in the band Mickey Ratt, which became Ratt. He was also in Rough Cutt and played briefly with Dio, but he is best known for his time with Ozzy Osbourne, joining his band after the tragic death of Randy Rhoads. Lee appeared on the albums ‘Bark at the Moon’ and ‘The Ultimate Sin.’
One of the most notorious bands in music is calling it a day. Motley Crue have announced a farewell tour with the legendary Alice Cooper serving as the opening act. Moreover, the Crue have signed a binding legal document that they will not tour beyond the year 2015, making this a true final tour.
After a successful inaugural Rise Above Fest in 2012, Seether are bringing the event to a new venue in 2014. This year, Avenged Sevenfold will be the headliners for the May 10 festival in Bangor, Maine. Seether will of course be on the bill, as will Motorhead, Hellyeah, Trivium, Kyng, Devour the Day, Black Stone Cherry, Muckler's Circle and Skindred.
The Michigan post-hardcore band Chiodos are getting ready to unleash their fourth studio album 'Devil.' Set for an April 1 release, the disc features the return of vocalist Craig Owens and drummer Derrick Frost, whose last Chiodos album was 2007's 'Bone Palace Ballet.'
