Children of Bodom claimed a Death Match victory in our most recent battle, pitting the Finnish metal masters against the Faceless. Bodom's 'Scream for Silence' moves on to its second step on the way to our Death Match Hall of Fame, which is also featured on our official YouTube channel. Children of Bodom and their Hate Crew have built up some momentum, but they've got stiff competition from Germany to face.
As part of the Country Radio Seminar week in Nashville, there are always surprises for those who make the trip to Music City. One of the biggest surprises of the week comes from Big Machine Records -- home of artists like Taylor Swift, Tim McGraw and Rascal Flatts -- when the label joined the forces of their country roster with the legend that is Vince Neil, frontman for Motley Crue.
Just as we thought Behemoth were a shoe-in for a Death Match Hall of Fame induction, the Faceless ended the Polish extreme metal band's run. This marks the first Death Match win for the Faceless' 'Accelerated Evolution,' and with three more victories, the song will be declared immortal both on Loudwire.com and our official YouTube channel. However, one of metal's most prolific modern bands will provide a serious challenge.
Behemoth have Satan (and their fans) to thank once again, as the Polish extreme metal band has won three Death Matches in a row. The band only needs one more win for 'Blow Your Trumpets Gabriel' to enter the Death Match Hall of Fame and the official playlist on our YouTube channel. However, stiff competition lies ahead for Behemoth.
Congrats to Behemoth for once again proving their dominance in the Death Match arena. The Polish extreme metal band took out Swedish black metal act Watain in last week's round, giving Behemoth their second consecutive win. Behemoth's 'Blow Your Trumpets Gabriel' is halfway to the Death Match Hall of Fame, but they've got to plow through one of Norway's finest this time around.
Before the digital age, walking around a record store and curiously browsing through potential gems undiscovered, an effective piece of album art would sometimes provide all incentive needed to bust out your wallet. In the metal section, these moments were very common, especially when an album cover sent a shock through your core or vomit up your esophagus.
Hail Behemoth! The extreme / black metal act defeated death metal legends Deicide in our last Death Match. Behemoth are just three wins away from induction into our Death Match Hall of Fame, which can be experienced on our official YouTube channel along with Loudwire.com. Now, having dispensed of one iconic act, Behemoth face yet another one this week.
After some time off for the holidays, we're bringing back the Death Match! We've also re-vamped the Death Match Hall of Fame, which in addition to living on Loudwire.com, also now appears on the official Loudwire YouTube channel. Hall of Fame inductees will now get more exposure than ever, and these two bands will now face off for the chance to carve a path to the Hall.
Every year, there's a whole new batch of acts that come along, adding to the legacy that is hard rock and metal music. Some may dominate their respective genres for years to come while others may be enjoying their moment in the spotlight now, but all of the nominees for Best New Artist of 2013 definitely left their mark on the year that was.
The various members of Motley Crue have been talking about a definitive farewell tour for the past year, and now it appears as if they're set to make it official. A 'Save the Date' notice recently surfaced declaring 'R.I.P.: All Bad Things Must Come to and End' while mentioning an event set for Jan. 28 in Los Angeles.
