My obsessive love of rock didn't surface until later in life -- around the same time I began learning electric guitar and listening to artists like Jimi Hendrix. I spent the next decade learning everything I could about rock. Along the way I found myself gravitating towards against-the-grain bands like Pearl Jam, Modest Mouse and Queens of the Stone Age. I began pursuing a career in radio after realizing I would be able to talk about music all day and get free CDs and concert tix. After grinding it out on the intern circuit, I landed a job at the Banana! I later became a writer for Loudwire.com and I'm currently the Digital Managing Editor for Townsquare Media Flint.
