Avenged Sevenfold Bring ‘Hail to the King’ Tour to Boston with Deftones + Ghost B.C. [Photos]
Offering up one of the most anticipated tours of the fall, Avenged Sevenfold rolled into the TD Garden in Boston last night (Oct. 9) – six-string's blazing. Only adding to the tour’s mass appeal were the addition of opening acts Deftones and Ghost B.C., making for a triple bill of royal proportions.
When it comes to their live stage show, Avenged Sevenfold seemingly subscribe to the simple attitude of “go big or go home.” Their latest production plays off the theme of the tour and recent No. 1 disc ‘Hail to the King’ with the detailed backdrop of a castle in a dastardly kingdom fully equipped with their signature Deathbats serving as sculptural accents atop columns flanked by two video boards used throughout the show to enhance the overall visual experience.
In the middle of everything is the larger than life, nefarius King who makes his first appearance during the title track ‘Hail to the King,’ ominously serenading his subjects in the crowd – many of whom had fashioned their own crowns to wear throughout the show paying homage to his highness.
While it goes without saying that the music is always the true star at any Avenged Sevenfold gig big or small, A7X also command the attention of all of your senses with pyro, explosions, lights and tricks around every corner. Check out some of our photos of the massive stage production below for just a small taste of what the tour has to offer.
Ghost B.C. opened the show with Papa Emeritus II and his hooded Nameless Ghouls leading the charge followed by a high energy set by Deftones that seemed to fly by. Anyone holding a ticket to this tour should get there early because there’s not a second of filler on the bill!
Avenged Sevenfold's 'Hail to the King' tour continues through the end of October; check out all the remaining dates and locations here.
