Axl Rose, Tony Iommi, James Hetfield + More Featured in ‘Classic Rock Avengers’ Poll

‘The Avengers’ set a record for the biggest opening weekend ever, raking in over $200 million. That shattered the old mark by 2010′s ‘Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2′ by almost $40 million. The movie features a collection of superheroes such as Iron Man, Hulk, Captain America, Thor and others.

The film has some of Hollywood’s biggest stars in its cast, but what if the movie were recast using rock stars? Ultimate Classic Rock is conducting a reader’s poll asking that question. Iron Man is played by Robert Downey, Jr. in ‘The Avengers,’ but there are some rockers who could play that part as well. Nominees include Dave Navarro, Tony Iommi and Eddie Van Halen.

Instead of Mark Ruffalo as The Hulk, how about Meat Loaf, Tom Petty or Axl Rose? When it comes to Thor, Chris Hemsworth does a fine job in the movie, but couldn’t you imagine James Hetfield, Robert Plant or Zakk Wylde instead?

If Chris Evans’ role as Captain America were recast with a rocker, you can vote for Jon Bon Jovi, Bruce Springsteen, Bob Seger or David Lee Roth. It would be tough to replace the beautiful Scarlett Johansson as Black Widow, but even though they are a bit older, sexy rockers Chrissie Hynde, Joan Jett, Nancy Wilson or Lita Ford could fit the bill.

With as much money as this movie is making, there will definitely be sequels. And if one of the stars is unable to be in a future movie, maybe they’ll take a look at some of the rockers in this poll! Click below to cast your vote:
