Big news for Smashing Pumpkins fans. In an official post from frontman Billy Corgan, the Pumpkins are in the final stretch of finishing up studio album No. 9. Additionally, Corgan has revealed that the album will be titled 'Monuments to an Elegy,' along with unveiling its track listing.

The last time we got a new album from the Smashing Pumpkins was in 2012, when the band released 'Oceania' to refreshingly positive reviews. The album contains some great pieces, which were revisited for the live record 'Oceania: Live in NYC' in 2013. Not known to take long breaks, Billy Corgan is back once again with the next chapter of Smashing Pumpkins history.

Posted on the official Smashing Pumpkins website, Corgan detailed the disc's progress:

Thrilled to report that we now have our album in total, as top songs are arranged and set for drum tracking. So over the next 3 days I’ll be focusing on vocal arrangements, lyrics, and tweaking the overall aesthetics of the record as I hope it shall be. At least then I’ll be able to share a different narrative for a spell, and get off this merry-go-round we’ve all been on.

That said, unless I manage to write another corker in the next month, here lies the tracklisting for ‘MONUMENTS TO AN ELEGY’ (all titles subject to change):

BEING BEIGE (WORLD’S ON FIRE)
ANTI-HERO
TIBERIUS
RUN TO ME
ONE AND ALL
DRUM AND FIFE
DORIAN
MONUMENTS
ANAISE

W.P.C.

Stay tuned for more on the Smashing Pumpkins and 'Monuments to an Elegy' as news continues to break.
