The wait is finally over. Bloodbath fans have been dying to find out who the death metal band's new vocalist is for the last two and a half years, and today (Sept. 16), the mystery has been revealed. The new growling frontman for Bloodbath is Paradise Lost vocalist Nick Holmes!

Back in April 2012, Opeth frontman Mikael Akerfeldt gave us the scoop that he was no longer the vocalist for Bloodbath. As one of the finest guttural vocalists in the world, Akerfeldt fronted some of the Bloodbath's best works such as 'Resurrection Through Carnage' and the 'Unblessing the Purity' EP. Fans mourned Akerfeldt's departure, but with the musician's declaration that Bloodbath planned to continue with a new vocalist, fans became immediately curious.

Patiently, we've waited for the band's decision to go public, and thanks to Metal Hammer, we now know that Nick Holmes will take the throne.

"Little did I expect to be working with the voice behind the death metal classic 'Lost Paradise,' or the genre defining 'Gothic,' and yet here we are decades later fulfilling another death metal dream," says guitarist Anders 'Blakkheim' Nyström. "With his sinister and ominous vocal delivery, it's an absolute pleasure to make Old Nick the bell-ringer in Bloodbath's 'Grand Morbid Funeral'!"

Bassist Jonas Renkse adds, "Ever since I got into 'Lost Paradise' back in '90, Nick Holmes has been one of my favorite growling vocalists out there. He was always audible and articulate but still deep and definitely morbid. It is a great pleasure to work with him some 25 years later after I was introduced to his thunderous roar!"

Nick Holmes will make his Bloodbath debut on the band's fourth full-length album, 'Grand Morbid Funeral,' which is set for a Nov. 17 release.
