U.S. progressive deathcore merchants Born of Osiris are fired up about their upcoming album, Soul Sphere, and we've got the exclusive premiere of "Free Fall," the fourth track to be unveiled off the disc. "Free Fall" is a quintessential Born of Osiris track, encompassing all the facets of their sound into one pummeling song.

Soul Sphere, which comes out Oct. 23, is divided into three conceptual sections. Born of Osiris keyboardist-vocalist Joe Buras expands on this, explaining, “The whole story of the record involves three levels. The first one is The Binding. You’re hanging, and you’re stagnant. The second is The Fight. You were hanging, but now you’re pulling away from this linchpin, whether it’s physical, emotional, or spiritual. The final is The Release. You break away and feel free, connected, and loved.”

“Free Fall” helps to bridge these concepts and features some of the most dynamic work Born of Osiris have committed to tape. Buras defines the song in a few short, yet effective words, stating, "'Free Fall' is about not losing hope. I like that we're sharing a fourth song because I think it shows how diverse Soul Sphere is." The synthesizers have taken a more prominent role, helping to round out the progressive edge of the slugging rhythmic chugs the band often employs.

Born of Osiris have spent a lot of time on the road in 2015, providing direct support for Arch Enemy as part of the Summer Slaughter lineup. With Soul Sphere coming Oct. 23 on Sumerian Records, the group is seeing more of the road as they’re ready to deliver “Free Fall” and other new songs to their rabid fans. The band started their trek across the United States with GWAR on Oct. 7. For a full list of dates, click here, and to pre-order the album visit the band's merch site.
