Brian Johnson: AC/DC Will ‘Absolutely’ Tour in 2015

AC/DC have experienced a chaotic year, but 2015 will likely bring the legendary Australian band back to the people. In a new interview with vocalist Brian Johnson and guitarist Angus Young, the duo spoke about a 2015 trek, which will “absolutely” happen according to Johnson.

In 2014, AC/DC faced the harsh reality of founding guitarist Malcolm Young suffering from dementia following a stroke. For the first time in AC/DC’s 41-year history, the band made an album (‘Rock or Bust’) without Malcolm, who is sadly no longer an active member of AC/DC.

Drummer Phil Rudd also made headlines this year after being hit with murder-for-hire charges. The shocking news was revealed earlier this week, but the charge has already been dropped. However, Rudd is still facing a “threatening to kill” case, along with charges of methamphetamine and marijuana possession.

During a Nov. 3 interview, just a couple of days before Rudd’s charges were made public, Brian Johnson and Angus Young sat down with BBC News to speak of intensions for a 2015 tour. “Well, we hope to be [out on the road next year]. Everyone’s ready, I’m ready to go,” says Angus Young. “I know that they [are trying to] coordinate now and trying to get dates together and stuff. So we’ll definitely do our best to be there.”

Brian Johnson adds, “I would say ‘absolutely,’ but… Nah, I would say absolutely.” [Laughs]

Stay tuned to Loudwire for AC/DC tour news and updates on Phil Rudd’s legal troubles as updates are revealed. AC/DC’s newest album, ‘Rock or Bust,’ will be out Dec. 2.
