Bullet for My Valentine, Halestorm + Young Guns Give Stellar Performances in New York City
Welsh heavy metal band Bullet for My Valentine New York rocked fans last night (April 30) as part of this year’s HardDrive Live Tour along with Halestorm, Young Guns and Stars In Stereo. The night also included a very special surprise guest during Halestorm’s set.
Bullet for My Valentine kicked off their set with ‘Breaking Point’ off their new album ‘Temper Temper.’ They also played other new songs, including the title track, ‘Riot,’ ‘P.O.W.’ and ‘Dirty Little Secret,’ for which Halestorm frontwoman Lzzy Hale came out onstage for a blistering duet.
The Welsh rockers melted faces with speedy riffs and had fans crowd surfing their hearts out while singing to favorites tunes ‘Tears Don’t Fall,’ ‘Scream Aim and Fire,’ ‘Pleasure and Pain,’ ‘Waking the Demon’ and many others.
Halestorm also delivered a stellar set, as Lzzy Hale showed off one of the best vocal ranges in rock music today. Meanwhile, her little brother Arejay Hale pounded away behind the kit with vigor that would put the beloved Animal of the Muppets to shame. Arejay’s drum solo is an incredible sight to see and no doubt he is one of the most entertaining young stickmen around.
The Grammy-winning band performed tracks from their latest record ‘The Strange Case Of…’ such as ‘Freak Like Me,’ ‘Love Bites (So Do I)’ and ‘I Miss the Misery’ while diehard fans rocked out to older favorites like ‘It’s Not You’ and ‘I Get Off.’
Young Guns gave one hell of a performance and definitely gained some New York fans after their very zestful set. The UK act’s chart-topper “Bones’ was among the highlights of their set. Stars In Stereo kicked off the evening’s festivities with a very melodic yet lively set.
