In addition to wings and the Bills, Buffalo has spawned some great musicians in many different genres. The seminal death metal band Cannibal Corpse, who hail from the Queen City, have now been inducted into the Buffalo Music Hall of Fame.

Bassist Alex Webster, guitarist Rob Barrett and drummer Paul Mazurkiewicz attended the Oct. 3 ceremony (photo above). Others inducted in this year’s class included Natalie Merchant (former 10,000 Maniacs singer), R&B/pop singer Joe Public and jazz drummer Bobby Previte.

Previous inductees into the Buffalo Music Hall of Fame include Goo Goo Dolls, Ani DiFranco,Rick James, Billy Sheehan, 10,000 Maniacs and Spyro Gyra.

Although Cannibal Corpse hail from Buffalo, they relocated to sunny Florida in 1994. They are celebrating their 25th anniversary this year. The band is wrapping up the concert year with a couple of shows in Florida. They’ll play Ft. Lauderdale on Nov. 29 and Tampa on Nov. 30.

To commemorate the anniversary, Metal Blade Records has been releasing one Cannibal Corpse picture disc a month from the band’s catalog of releases.  A total of 12 pictures discs will be released.

They cover all of the band’s full-length studio albums (‘Eaten Back to Life,’ ‘Butchered at Birth,’ ‘Tomb of the Mutilated,’ ‘The Bleeding,’ ‘Vile,’ ‘Gallery of Suicide,’ ‘Bloodthirst,’ ‘Gore Obsessed,’ ‘The Wretched Spawn,’ ‘Kill’, ‘Evisceration Plague’ and ‘Torture’)., some of which have never been released on picture disc. The most recent picture disc to be added is ‘Kill,’ available for pre-order here.
