Another year, another edition of the Grammy Awards. A bunch of great bands were given a Best Metal Performance nomination for the 2014 ceremony. Among the acts nominated are Anthrax, who received the nod for their cover of AC/DC's 'T.N.T.' We caught up with Anthrax guitarist Scott Ian on the phone to get his reaction to the nomination.
Dream Theater have received their second overall Grammy nomination. The progressive metal giants were nominated for the golden gramophone in the 2014 Best Metal Performance category for 'The Enemy Inside.' In response to the nomination, Dream Theater have released a statement to show their appreciation.
Metal may not get the wealth of recognition that other genres receive, but the big category that every metalhead music fan should be paying attention to is the Best Metal Performance category. The nominees for the 2014 Grammy Awards were just announced and there's a diverse group of acts populating the category.
A big congrats is in order to Black Sabbath and Queens of the Stone Age as they're among the rock leaders for the 2013 Grammy Awards. Each of the acts received three nominations when the Grammy Awards nods were revealed Friday night (Dec. 6).
The 55th Annual Grammy Awards were held last night (Feb. 10), and it was business as usual for the famed awards show. Music's biggest names walked the carpet, while shiny golden gramophones were given out to rock artists such as the Black Keys, Halestorm and Trent Reznor + Atticus Ross. However, a sense of disarray resonated with various musicians, who took to Twitter in order to vent their disapproval of the Grammy Awards.
The Black Keys were the big winners of the 2013 Grammy Awards, taking home three trophies (plus one for frontman/producer Dan Auerbach) and performing a memorable version of 'Lonely Boy' with Dr. John and the Preservation Hall Jazz Band.
The Black Keys, already enjoying a big Grammy night winning three statues before the actual telecast and Best Rock Performance during the televised ceremony, carried over the good times to the Staples Center concert stage Sunday night (Feb. 10) at the 2013 Grammy Awards.
Chalk up another award for Nine Inch Nails mastermind Trent Reznor. The rocker, who has taken up film scoring in recent years, joined his musical partner Atticus Ross in winning the Best Score Soundtrack for Visual Media for their work on the film 'The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo.'
