Children of Bodom’s Roy vs. Judas Priest’s Painkiller – Metal Mascot Madness, Round 2
Here we have two mascots with a physically intimidating presence. Roy may not even round out the description of skin and bones, but the reaper of Lake Bodom needs only his cloak, scythe, and lore to strike fear into anyone. Well, maybe except for the imposing Painkiller. Ready? Fight!
Children of Bodom's perennial mascot Roy made it out of the first round against In Flames' Jesterhead with just a few bumps and bruises. With over 23,000 votes accounted for, Roy represented nearly 60 percent of them. The margin might be a bit closer here considering the beatdown Roy's opponent delivered in Round 1.
"He! Is! The Painkiller!" He is also the pumpkin smasher after devastating Helloween's quirky Jack O. Lantern in the first bout. Despite his limited number of appearances, Painkiller's legend only took one song to snuff out the established German mascot. With 65 percent of the votes, the Judas Priest icon cruised to victory, but he will have to defeat Roy to get one step closer to returning from armageddon to the sky.
