‘Dracula’ Icon Christopher Lee Becomes Oldest Musician to Chart on Billboard at 91 Years Old

Christopher Lee has proven once again that he's the effing man! The acting legend has created a small collection of heavy metal music in the last few years, but he's just made history by being the oldest musician to ever enter the Billboard Charts.

The 'Lord of the Rings' and 'Dracula' icon began his metal career in 2010, releasing the album 'Charlemagne: By the Sword and the Cross' followed by 'Charlemagne: The Omens of Death' in 2013. On top of the duel releases, Lee has crafted two Christmas records. Lee's 'A Heavy Metal Christmas' EP became available in 2012, while 'A Heavy Metal Christmas Too' was put out for this year's holiday season.

"It’s a bit more naughty,” Lee says about the song. “It’s not bad, I mean bad in the sense of unpleasant. It’s entertaining, it’s certainly different.” The track rules, by the way, and at 91 years old, Christopher Lee became the oldest musician to hit Billboard as 'Jingle Hell' nabbed the No. 22 spot on the 'Hot 100' chart.

As of this posting, 'Jingle Hell' is up to No. 18 on the chart. Tony Bennett, at 85 years old, was the previous holder of Lee's new title, Bennett recording 'Body and Soul' with the late Amy Winehouse in 2011. Additionally, 'Oh Sweet Lorraine,' a musical adaptation of a poem written by 96-year-old Fred Stobaugh has hit the Billboard Chart this year, technically making Stobaugh the oldest co-songwriter to make the chart.
