In addition to fronting Coheed & Cambria, Claudio Sanchez is branching out into the record business. He is officially launching Evil Ink Records and announcing their first signing, the New Jersey progressive band Thank You Scientist.

Thank You Scientist’s ‘Maps of Non-Existent Places’ will be released Sept. 30. The disc is actually a remixed and remastered version of their 2012 debut effort. You can listen to the song ‘My Famed Disappearing Act’ below. The label will also make the disc available on vinyl for the first time. Pre-orders of the double LP are available here.

Thank You Scientist are a seven-piece band who collectively play over 20 instruments. Their progressive style encompasses everything from rock to jazz fusion to metal to psychedelic to pop and classical. They expect to release a new studio album next year.

Coheed and Cambria will soon be embarking on the ‘Neverender:IKSSE3′ tour (dates below) and Thank You Scientist will be the opening act. The tour launches Sept. 5 in Riverside, Calif.
