Corey Taylor enjoyed success with his 'Seven Deadly Sins' book in 2012 and somehow amidst all of his Stone Sour and Slipknot's plans, he's managed to write and complete his second book. 'Funny Thing Happened on the Way to Heaven (Or, How I Made Peace With the Paranormal and Stigmatized Zealots and Cynics in the Process)' is on schedule for a July 16 release through Da Cappo Press.

The description of the new book states that Taylor takes readers along as he journeys undercover through various ghostbusting groups who do their best to gather information and evidence about the existence of spirits. The description states that some of these groups are more credible than others, but all are observed with the appropriate seriousness as the frontman attempts to better understand some of the spooky things that have happened to him in his life.

The vocalist also shares some of the beyond the grave events he's encountered over the years and touches on his religious background and how he feels it led him to "believe in much more than the man in the sky."

In our recent exclusive video interview with Taylor, he told us, "It's going to have a different vibe to it, but it's kind of set up the same way [as 'Seven Deadly Sins']. It's a discussion and it's me trying to figure out how I can have this deep belief in the supernatural and the paranormal and stuff like that and yet I am still a pretty vocal atheist, you know? So it's me trying to find a new way to figure out what these things are."

He adds, "I've seen a lot in my life when it comes to this side of things and I refuse to just write it off like a lot of cynics would. And I'm trying to work it out honestly from a scientific and mathematical point of view. There's a lot of that in the book and there's also stories of the experiences I've had in the places I've lived and the places I've worked. There's a whole chapter about the mansion in which I've worked in Los Angeles."
