The work of the wicked is never done. Black metal extremists Cradle of Filth are hard at work on their new album: the follow up to 2012's 'The Manticore and Other Horrors.' This new album will not be rushed, though, as the English band hopes to release it in 2015.

Frontman Dani Filth checked in and offered an update on the progress of the new Cradle material, revealing that the band's recent spate of live gigs has gotten the creative juices coursing through the musicians' veins. He also suggested that the new material falls in line with classic and beloved albums in the Cradle catalog.

He posted the update on the band's Facebook page, along with a creepy cool photo of himself, and the full text is below.

Fired up from the recent spate of shows in Europe with co-headliners Behemoth, the band have decided to forego the year away from writing, and leap back into the fray with vigour anew.

The crux of three songs have already been broached and I can say the material is comparable to that of 'Dusk,' 'Cruelty' and 'Midian,' albeit with a fresher sound. I can't define it exactly as it incorporates a wide variety of styles and dark emotions as one would come to expect from a Cradle record. One thing is certain though, this next release is going to be pushing the boundaries of what the band can achieve, and with forthcoming live shows peppering the writing process, I know this album is going to be fueled by 101% metal fury!

In other CoF news, the band's 'Total F—king Darkness' demo has been remastered and will be released on May 5. It will include rare bonus material, as well. To order the double vinyl gatefold which has been limited to, appropriately, 666 copies worldwide, go here. The order the CD version, go here.
