Creed frontman Scott Stapp has just signed with metal label Napalm Records, home to artists like Alter Bridge, Candlemass and Kamelot. Could this mean Stapp is going metal? A new video he posted on twitter, teasing a heavy snippet of music, may suggest so.

Creed's last album Full Circle came out in 2009, and while some of his bandmates went on to team up with Myles Kennedy for Alter Bridge, Stapp has had a successful solo career himself. His first solo effort, The Great Divide, was released in 2005 and has since been certified platinum by the RIAA, and in 2013 he released Proof of Life.

Stapp suffered a meltdown in 2014 but has since been sober and is going to therapy and taking medication to treat bipolar disorder. Loudwire interviewed him in 2016, in which he detailed his paranoid experiences on drugs. "I was in a parallel universe, man," he says. "I thought I was freaking Jason Bourne … It was scary and it was so real to me. I really thought government agencies were tracking me and trying to do experiments on me and people were tapped into my cell phone and computer. It was scary. It was real. It's amazing how our brain can operate out of balance and how it can cause us to perceive the world."

Stapp has also been involved with the music organization, MusiCares, and he spoke at their recent "Person of the Year" awards. "I still have a lot of music ahead me and without MusiCares that wouldn't have been possible," he said. "They provided support and helped educate my wife and I on what we were going through, that it was a disease, and if I did my part, it could be treated and recovered from. Thanks to MusiCares and my family, I'm going on five years sober."

Napalm Records CEO Thomas Caser is very excited to have Stapp join their team. "He is a true professional, one of the most passionate live entertainers we've seen on a stage, and we know rock fans will be blown away by his evolution," Caser said.
