Dave Mustaine is standing by his statement he made following Slayer's farewell tour announcement that a final Big 4 show should happen before they officially call it quits.

Blabbermouth is reporting that the Megadeth frontman revealed on the Sirius XM show Trunk Nation LA Invasion where he thought the show should take place as well. "Since the scene primarily started in the [San Francisco] Bay Area, I think it should be done in the Bay Area or here [in Los Angeles]. To me, it's just not right. I think there should be at least one more."

He spoke on the prospect of it actually happening beforehand: "I think everybody in the metal community wants to see [a Big 4 show happen], with Slayer going away. Although, fortunately, with the attention that they're getting, they're not [going away just yet] — there's so much attention for them that they continue to play, which is great for us. But I think that before they retire, there should be another Big 4 show."

Mustaine tweeted the day after Slayer's farewell tour announcement that he "hopes for at least one more Big 4 Show before the end of Slayer’s final tour."

It's been nearly eight years since the 'Big 4' of thrash - Metallica, Slayer, Megadeth and Anthrax - first shared the stage together at the Sonisphere Festival in Warsaw, Poland to celebrate their collective history. The bands would go on to do a total of 14 shows together over the following 13 months, with the majority of them taking place in Europe. Two were held in the United States - one in Indio, Calif. and the other at Yankee Stadium in New York City.
