Think of it as 'Hell's Kitchen' without a kitchen. Spike TV has tapped Jane’s Addiction guitarist Dave Navarro to be the host of 'InkMaster,' a new reality television competition series and the first-ever one to focus on tattoo art.

The show, which is due to hit the air next January, will feature tattoo artists competing in a series of challenges as they ink their way to a $100,000 grand prize and a feature in Inked magazine.

Navarro, who previously co-hosted CBS' 'Rock Star: Supernova' and 'Rock Star: INXS,' was the only choice for the role, says Spike TV President Sharon Levy.

"Dave Navarro is known worldwide for his musical talents, but he's also well-known within in the tattoo community for his incredible body art," explains Levy. "Dave's ultimate respect for the art and culture of tattooing makes him perfect for this series."

In addition to hosting 'InkMaster,' Navarro also will serve as a judge alongside tattoo experts Chris Nunez (from 'Miami Ink') and Oliver Peck, the owner of Dallas' Elm Street Tattoo and former beau of 'LA Ink' star Kat Von D.

Navarro currently is in New York filming the six-episode series. Click here to check out a recently posted picture of him and Peck chilling on set.
