From the twisted mind of the one and only Devin Townsend, the follow-up to 'Ziltoid the Omniscient' is coming soon. Fans have been begging for the return of their favorite coffee-drinking extraterrestrial, and finally, Townsend will begin dedicating his time to 'Z2' as he enters the studio in May.

Devin Townsend is one of metal's most beloved workaholics, constantly pouring out buckets of creativity in too many forms to describe properly. Shortly after Strapping Young Lad was disbanded, Townsend created 'Ziltoid the Omniscient' as one of his solo projects, peaking the imagination of Townsend's fans through conceptual absurdism.

Devin Townsend revealed his plans to begin the follow-up to 'Ziltoid' with a trio of tweets:

Before 'Z2' hits the shelves, Townsend will release his 'Casualties of Cool' album. Back in early 2012, Townsend shared some info about 'Casualties of Cool' on the musician's official forum. "Casualties of Cool: a duo with myself and Che [Aimee Dorval] (Ki)… it sounds like haunted Johnny cash songs," Townsend explains. "Late night music, completely isolated sounding and different than anything I’ve done. Che sings most of the leads, and it’s probably the truest reflection of who I am in life at this point." [via Heavy Blog is Heavy] The record is expected for a May release.
