Group 3 in our Extreme Metal Olympics showcases more heavier-than-hell bands from around the world. During the course of the London Olympics Games, 32 metal bands will be representing their homelands in Loudwire's Extreme Metal Olympics -- competing in a series of battles to bring home the gold.

Representing the country of Finland is one of metal's biggest bands. Children of Bodom represent the success that melodic death metal can have all over the world. Bodom will compete in their first match against Australian underdogs Psycroptic, who have developed a loyal following for their technical death metal mastery.

Canadian death metallers Kataklysm are one of three bands entering the Olympics for their country, and they will see their first match against Gojira, the metal pride of France.

This next pairing will showcase two of the heaviest bands in the world, as extreme metal heavyweights Meshuggah represent the metal heartland of Sweden. Challenging Meshuggah are Polish death metal legends Vader.

Finally, the Polish black metal heroes of Behemoth face off against one of the pioneers of deathcore, Despised Icon.
