Faith No More's multitalented and eccentric vocalist Mike Patton is scoring the upcoming film 'The Place Beyond the Pines.'

The movie, written and directed by Derek Cianfrance ('Blue Valentine'), stars Ryan Gosling, Bradley Cooper, Eva Mendes and Ray Liotta. 'The Place Beyond the Pines' is about a professional motorcyclist (Gosling) who becomes a bank robber, and the cat-and-mouse chase a rookie cop (C0oper) undergoes to try to catch him.

In recent years, Patton has scored various movies, including the 2010 Italian film 'The Solitude of Prime Numbers,' 2009's 'Crank 2: High Voltage' and the 2008 short film 'A Perfect Place.'

Currently, Patton is working with his band Tomahawk on the follow-up album to 2007's 'Anonymous,' which came out on his label Ipecac. The disc is tentatively scheduled for release late summer. There are no announced plans for a new Faith No More album.
