Things may be bright and rosy for Five Finger Death Punch, getting to work with the "Metal God" himself Rob Halford on their current single 'Lift Me Up,' but the mood of the track is anything but cheery, as evidenced in the lyric video for the song.

The band just unveiled the clip, which is set against the backdrop of dark and threatening skies, massive lightning strikes and the occasional shots of microorganisms attacking each other.

In the song itself, 5FDP frontman Ivan Moody and  Judas Priest legend Rob Halford set the tone as people who are not to be messed with. Though the verses come from a highly intense place, Moody does offer a ray of hope for some escape in the chorus, melodically belting, "Lift me up above this / The flames and the ashes / Lift me up and help me to fly away / Lift me up above this / The broken the empty / Lift me up and help me to fly away."

'Lift Me Up' is the lead single from Five Finger Death Punch's forthcoming 'The Wrong Side of Heaven and the Righteous Side of Hell, Volume 1' album, which is due in stores July 23. The single is currently available via iTunes.

You can hear Five Finger Death Punch on tour this summer, serving as co-headliners of the 2013 Mayhem Festival. To see the full itinerary, click here.
