Flyleaf and P.O.D. Rock New York City Fans at Highline Ballroom
With over 20 years of making music and eight albums under their belt the boys in P.O.D. have given us numerous hits throughout the years. At Highline Ballroom, they had fans bouncing throughout their set.
Their performance began with ‘Boom’ during which frontman Sonny Sandoval delivers his lyrics like raucous thunder. He has complete command of the stage and the crowd, while the rest of the band also displays a liveliness and swagger that certainly infects the fans.
P.O.D. are currently on tour in support of their latest album, ‘Murdered Love,’ and they performed new songs such as the title track and the singles ‘Lost In Forever’ and ‘Beautiful,’ just to name a few.
If you’re still upset about Lacey Sturm stepping down as vocalist of Flyleaf, get over it --because new frontwoman Kristen May is simply enthralling live. May is a powerhouse onstage and performs new and old songs with solid soul and force.
Flyleaf were gripping from start to finish, whether it was watching May crowd surfing during ‘Fully Alive’ or bassist Pat Seals getting some major air with his high jumps throughout the set. P.O.D. frontman Sonny Sandoval also made an appearance to sing their collaborative track ‘Something Better.’
Stars In Stereo are no strangers to New York City fans, who have seen them this year play at Irving Plaza with Flyleaf and Drowning Pool and at Roseland Ballroom opening up for Halestorm and Bullet for My Valentine. The band gets better and better with every performance and they kicked some serious butt at Highline Ballroom. They performed captivating tracks from their self-titled record as well as a cover Aerosmith’s ‘Dream On.’
Opening band Manafest kicked off the night of riffs and from the looks of things, they got much love from New York rock fans. Go here to see the remaining dates where you can catch all of these bands on tour.
